Not a photo manipulation or taxidermy....I sculpted both the chipmunk and pixie from polymer clay. The fur on the chipmunk is not a pelt, but recycled fur from coats and scarves, applied bit by bit in a layered fashion. The piece is close to life sized.

whenever i see your work, i always get awe-strucked by the details that is put into each piece. my favorites would be the ones with little creatures and the mythological ones--this is no exception. it is full of detail that i just cant even handle! and the photos that you take make them all the more pleasing to the eye ;o;

I dont see how I am supposed to learn how to sculpt when you keep posting images that really....SERIOUSLY... beg to be painted.

*sighs*

...I'm pretty sure that isn't a complaint, though *g*

I've been trying that fur technique of yours.. the bit by bit with glue? (though I hadn't thought of recycling old coats and things, MOST excellent!) and apart from using tweezers to hold my tuft's together in small 'clumps' <-- very technical, I know :D I've yet to find a manner to apply it that permits rapid layers. Am I doing something incorrectly?

...and before I hijack a thread best left for effusive praise for a truly excellent work, I'll shut up and type out what I do in a note and let you pick over what is wrong with it at your convenience :)

Just because perfection is impossible, doesn’t mean I've given up attempting to achieve it. :aww:
Thanks! It sounds like you're doing fine...I don't use tweezers unless I have to (in tight spaces), but that's exactly the way I do it.
Love the pixie and his acorn shell hat!
And I really like how realistic you make animals! They look stuffed!
