FURRED SCULPTURE - fennec foxby ~pixiwillow

Here is the fox from my newest piece. I'll upload some new pics later of him and his little friend...but it's been so long since I've finished anything and I couldn't wait to share.

He is small enough to stand in the palm of my hand. I sculpted him from polymer clay and then furred him, to make him as life like as possible.

For those wondering about the fur....I'm gonna go out on a limb with this and take a guess, that she gets the fur from pet groomers? I know that you can use tibetan lamb hair for hair on sculpts, but you can't get the range she's got with her sculpts. It's a stab in the dark, and even if she's not, I think I'm going to be hitting up pet groomers myself, and see if I can get the shaved coats of dogs and cats from them.
